Bekka the Bokka
About The Game
Welcome to "Bekka The Bokka"!
- You play as Bekka, who needs to deliver her precious cargo up the mountain, with the help of her trusty Teekay Delivery Pen!
- You start each level with a collection of building pieces (these change with your difficulty!). Place down your pieces to build your way up.
- Once you're happy with their placement and they're all settled you can freeze them and move to climbing!
- You can scale the pieces you place, but watch your stamina, if it runs out you'll fall!
- To restore stamina stand on solid ground, look for platforms you can rest on in the level.
- Reach the rope to scale further to the next level!

Story Summary
Bekka is a hardworking and optimistic squirrel bokka. Her assigned route is the most challenging in the region: delivering parcels to three residents living on Mount Kenshin, a beautiful yet treacherous mountain known for its lush forests, rocky cliffs, and serene views. Time hasn't been too kind to the path up the mountain; armed with her trusty Teekay Delivery Pen, Bekka sets out to complete her deliveries and reach the summit by building her own path to scale the mountain.
Each resident’s home is located in a unique and remote environment, but with the Teekay Pen, Bekka makes use of it to creatively overcome obstacles and navigate the terrain.
After making all her deliveries, Bekka finally reaches Mount Kenshin's summit, basking in a stunning view of the entire region, enjoying a moment of tranquility and accomplishment that rewards her efforts at the end of a long working day.

I'm only up to the second level and I'm stuck.
Can I move pieces or delete them after they're dropped?
Why can't I stand on placed objects after I climb them?
How do I save my progress?
Also, the game seems buggy. Whenever you reset a level, it remains paused and you have to press Return to start. One time the countdown stopped and the retry didn't work properly, Plus, the pen covers the first item and the pieces don't display correctly in thumbnail. (Not sure how much of this is because of my old PC)
Hi Shadree, thanks for the feedback! we are aware of a number of bugs and are working to upload a new version of the game with these bugs fixed. We needed to wait until the end of the 2024 GMTK Game Jam to make any changes, so these changes will be coming soon!
To answer your questions:
-There is currently not a way to save (coming soon)
-Placed objects cannot be stood on. This is part of the challenge of the game. We may look into adding objects with standable platforms in the future but no promises
-You cannot move/delete pieces after they're dropped currently, you'll need to reset the level to rebuild. You can do so by Navigating to the pause menu, click retry, then click resume. We understand that this is also a bit tedious and will be working to make this a smoother process with the updated version of the game.
-We are also aware of the browser version having the sides and top cut off and also plan to fix this too :)
As a reminder, since the game was submitted as part of a game jam, we only had 4 days to build and submit the game in it's entirity. We will be improving the game now that the jam is over!
Thanks, I appreciate getting back to me and so quickly too!
The browser version gets the sides cut off, so I have to try the desktop version. Beautiful artwork so far.
Great game, love the art style! The music fits the game really well and I had fun making sure I placed the blocks at the right spot so I don't run out of stamina too fast. Great job! Some feedback:
- I almost want to press space to jump and up to climb out of habit so I kind of had to flip that in my head when playing.
- I wish the blocks you can place would change color or have an indicator if you can't place them on a spot. I may have spent too long trying to place a block before realizing I was covering a rock!
